Hello and welcome to our orientation
tutorial. In this tutorial we are going to cover essential skills that you
need to get started at uni. We’ll start with the library website to show you
where to find key services and resources. Use the search box at the top
of the screen to search the library catalogue. The catalogue contains all library
material including books, readings and DVD’s. Click the borrow tab at the top of
the page for information about borrowing books. You can use My Library to check
your borrowing record, renew books and pay fines. Use Borrow and Renew to
see how many books you can borrow for how long. Using the Facilities tab, you can click
Room bookings to book an individual or group study room. Printing gives you
information about using the printers and photocopiers in the library. The Help tab
takes you to a list of resources to help you succeed at University. Study
guides are guides on resources for your subject area. Ask a Librarian contains
different ways that you can contact a member of library staff, including online chat
email or in person. Study skills contains resources to help with
assignments and referencing as well as areas like group work and presentation
skills. English language has information and resources to help you with English
reading, writing and speaking.
