Russell Moore | Other Than the Bible, What Book Would You Give to a Non-Christian?

– [Russell Moore] If I had to choose one
book to give a skeptic or an unbeliever, probably I would choose that based upon
the sorts of questions and background that the skeptic has. But for a lot of people,
I would choose C.S. Lewis’sThe Lion, the Witch
and the Wardrobe
. Precisely because it engages not just the
reason, but the imagination which does what Lewis said was the reason for writing
The Chronicles of Narniato sort of sneak past the watchful dragons that we
put in front of our consciences as we approach the Gospel, shows
us something of what it means to long for an Aslan, what it
means to have a heart breaking for the sacrifice on the stone table,
and then tie those intuitions and imaginations toward the
Bible and the cross.
