Persistence | Book Nerd Problems

Wait! Don’t put that book away yet, this book is
amazing, it should at least be facing out. How else will people
fall in love with Warner? How else will people discover and experience the amazing character
arc that Juliette has?>>I haven’t actually read it.>>What!?>>Yeah, I’m just more of a non-fiction
person, really, historical, mostly.>>Okay, first of all,
I mean, it’s amazing and we need to discuss this further. But now, you just,
you just can’t not have read Shatter Me.>>It’s just not my type of book,
I’m sorry.>>Not your type of book? [LAUGH] But my friend, it is. You see, Shatter Me is dystopian, but it’s
not your typical kind of like doom and gloom dystopian. I mean, it kind of is, but
we’re not going to focus on that. We’re going to focus on the power
of the love story of the ages. Actually, before we even get to that—
>>I’m sorry, I just, I have to—>>Juliette has had a rough life. And it’s not about to get any easier,
because when we start the book, she has already been in prison for
almost a year. Adam on the other hand, Adam, he comes and like stuff does start to change,
and then we meet Warner.>>Yeah, I know,
I just need to continue working.>>You have to read the book. If you haven’t read the book,
how can you even tell people about it?>>Okay, fine, I’ll just give it one try,
but if you promise to just leave me alone.>>Deal! Yes!>>Hi.>>Hi, so, what did you think?>>Okay, that, yeah,
it was actually really good.>>Yes, see? I told you so!>>Yeah, I mean the writing,
it was gorgeous, and Juliette, I mean, I do like Juliette. I don’t, I mean, Adam was amazing.>>So have you read Unravel Me yet?>>I was considering it, but
there’s just a lot that I have to read. There’s a biography that I’ve been looking
at, it’s actually about this war hero.>>Okay, again, that’s great,
and we’ll get back to that, I promise, but
you have to read Unravel Me.>>I know, I don’t not want to, I just—
>>But Kenji! And Warner! And Omega Point! There are so many twists and turns, and
the whole power thing gets really epic. And it’s just like—
>>Well, I mean, I guess I could push off
the biography a little bit.>>Trust me, you want to read it,
no, no no, you need to read it.>>Fine.
>>Yay!>>Yeah.>>Chapter 62.>>Psst.>>I thought you would never come.>>Have you met me? This is a bookstore.>>I finished.>>Unravel Me?>>And Ignite Me. I couldn’t stop, I also love Kenji.>>Isn’t he amazing?>>But you know what I really love? Is when Juliette sees Warner for
the first time and then he smiles at her. And because of the scene
with the cute dog, and then you realize that
he does have a heart.>>My God, I forgot about the dog! [MUSIC]

Good thing I read the first three books in the Shatter Me series, at least I know what my reading tastes are, and you canโ€™t force people into liking a series, let them discover it on their own. Iโ€™m not going to lie, I swear itโ€™s like sheโ€™s stalking the guy into reading the book, and heโ€™s made it clear on what type of books he reads.

  10. leongeunice1 says:

I wish I have her persistence in recommending books. I often stop and respect their reading taste when they say: "I'm not into that genre"

  19. Mayham was here says:

One thing that confuses me is that you should respect the fact that someone is not into that book genre, and that you shouldnโ€™t keep bothering them about it. Nonetheless itโ€™s still a great video ๐Ÿ™ƒ

  62. KingdomHeartsFan3211 says:

If I was any crazier (oh, wait), this would be me trying to get people to read "Dear Evan Hansen"…

…and "The Hobbit" (BEST BOOK EVER!!!)…

this made me read Shatter Me. BLESS YOU โœจ

  64. Holly Letson says:

I hate when people try to force me into doing things….like reading a book or watching a show/movie or play a game that they love. When someone keeps forcing things on me like this, I start to hate said thing. I lose any and all interest that I might have had in it beforehand.

Forcing things that YOU LOVE onto others will NOT make others LOVE them as well. It will usually make others AVOID said things like the plague.

  65. KingdomHeartsFan3211 says:

This might be stemming from the fact that I have not yet read the "Shatter Me" series, but I think the love story of the ages is Hazel and Gus (in literature)/Stoick and Valka (in cinema).

Being persistent about your favourite books and recommend to them to people is amazing, but you know what is way better? Respectively recommend and respect when people don't want to read it because they love a different genre. ๐Ÿ‘Œ

  70. malak sayed says:

So we gonna ignore the fact that the guy us actually really cute
