Hume City Council is really passionate
about providing learning opportunities… for people of all ages. Libraries are more than just a place for
books… Hume Libraries has over 200,000 items in the collection… and we had nearly a million loans last year. We also give access to over 20 databases, where you can access things like… magazines, music, instructional videos and family history records from home or from the library if you want. Our Baby Time sessions are a great way to introduce a love of reading from a young age. You can come, have stories read to your child, interact with your baby… and also join our 1000 Books Before School Program. This will give you some great opportunities to mix with other people… have your children mix with children of their own age… borrow some great titles and instill a love of reading in your child from a young age. We also offer bilingual storytime, where you can build language skills in English… … as well as in your family’s first language. We also offer a lot of programs around emerging technologies, so we can give you access to… 3D printing, robotics, coding, programming… we can introduce you to… retro-gaming, even making musical instruments out of recycled materials. Our Hume Global Learning Centres in Broadmeadows and Craigieburn are world-class. They’re home to our libraries, but they also provide access to a wide range of facilities for our community. The Hume Multiversity Program gives you access to higher education closer to home, with our partners… …Kangan Institute, Deakin, Latrobe and Victoria Universities. Our libraries are based at Craigieburn, Broadmeadows, Gladstone Park, Sunbury, Tullamarine… … and we’ve also got the mobile library that visits various stops throughout Hume. If you can’t come to one of our branches, the mobile library is sure to have a stop somewhere near you. For more information on the wide range of services we provide, visit humelibraries.vic.gov.au
