Hello! In this video, we will show you how to find e-books in the Göttingen University Catalogue. Start your search for e-books on the homepage of the Göttingen State and University Library. Find the link to the Göttingen University Catalogue. This catalogue encompasses the holdings of the Göttingen State and University Library including the Divisional and Departmental Libraries of the University. There are two ways to go about this search.
First, suppose you know the title of the e-book you need.

You can access the full text via the link provided at the end of the catalogue entry. In this example, you can either download the whole book at once or select individual chapters instead. Sometimes, however, the whole book is not available for download, but you can read the book online or download individual chapters. Please note that you are entitled to this access for academic use only. Now, let’s go back to our starting point and see how to search for e-books on a certain topic. Suppose you are looking for e-books on economic development. Use the advanced search to limit your search results to electronic resources.
Enter your topic. Use wildcard operators, an asterisk in this example, to retrieve results that include various endings of your search terms. To search for e-books only, select the right publication type. Click “none” in “material selection”.
Then, select “Online resources (without periodicals)”. Click “search”. The list of your search results will then include e-books as well as working and discussion papers. Now you can choose a publication you find interesting. The catalogue entry will provide further information on the book. You can access the full text via the link provided at the end.
