BOOKS TO READ IN DECEMBER [cc]

Hey everyone it’s Caz and today I’m gonna be talking about all of the books that I’m reading in the month of December. Hopefully… it’s ambitious. So December is going to be a very, very interesting month. I basically set myself a TBR that is subject to change based on the Magical Read-a-thon. So if you guys aren’t aware, there is a winter round of the Magical Read-a-thon throughout the entire month of December. It’s running a little bit differently than your average read-a-thon, basically every Sunday you’re going to be given some new… prompts, um, it’s kind of like a choose-your-own-adventu re and depending on what choices you make you’ll be given like one to three prompts, I think. It is honestly super exciting, but it’s also, for me I like to be organized and plan ahead. So, like I said this whole TBR is subject to change. In the announcement video, G did mention that you can choose books that you’d started before the read-a-thon. So what I’ve decided to do is put together a list of books that I would like to finish by the end of the year and hopefully these books work with the prompts as I go. I’m really excited about it, but it’s gonna be a really interesting ride. I also have a secret video in the works, which should hopefully be up before the middle of the month, which I’m not going to talk about today. But just know that there’s an extra five books on top of everything else. A quick word from our sponsors. Yes, this video has been sponsored by Byzans – which, if you guys aren’t aware, is a book app. That’s kind of like if Goodreads met discord. It’s a really cool way for readers to connect and talk about the books that they’re reading live, if you will. I honestly love the idea of this and I have been using this for a couple of months now. When you add a book as currently reading you get added to a kind of chat room filled with other people who are also currently reading that book and then the same goes when you change your status to read. You then join a different group with people who have all finished reading the book and discuss the book and all of its spoilery glory with other people who have also read the book. I have a couple of links in the description below to where you can get the app through the Apple Store and also Google Play – it is completely free, there are no ads and honestly I think this is such a cool way to interact with and meet other readers who are interested in the same books that you are. And I mean not only interested in, but like are actively reading it at the same time. As I mentioned I have been using this app for couple of months now But I don’t, like, actively announce elsewhere that I’m reading a particular book and I will be discussing it through the app. But throughout the month of December There are a couple of books on my TBR that I’m going to be actively discussing on Byzans. So if you guys are interested, if you want to kind of do a loose buddy read with me. Please do, I’d love to discuss these with you guys. And, um, I will mention which books in particular because some of the books that I’m reading I’m like 75% of the way through or even further so I’m like really close to finishing some of these. So that I won’t have much time to kind of update my progress as I go. Thank you so much to Byzans for sponsoring this video and let’s jump into the books that I’m reading in December! I’m really excited for this month. It’s gonna be an interesting, interesting time. Just very quickly I thought I’d give you a little bit of a… Semi sneak peek of the five books, so I’m gonna be reading for this secret video. I’ve got two of them as ebooks, the rest as physical books. And I’m really excited to read these. Gonna be a good time. Can’t wait to talk about these in an upcoming video. Okay. Look forward to that. I’m also going to be finishing Dev1at3 by Jay Kristoff. Guys, I have 30 pages left of this book to go. It’s gonna happen. So as long as one of the magical reader fun prompts works for this This is definitely getting read, if none of the prompts work. I still think I can finish this. I’m just gonna do it anyway. Another book I am currently in the middle of is Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff. So this is a reread for me this is the second time that I’m reading the book and I was trying to get this finished before… a live show – I participated in a read-along for this series. But since I’d already finished the book I didn’t put in as much effort as I needed to to get it finished in time. And then I had to put this down to focus on books for other book clubs that I had to read. So it’s just kind of been sitting on my bedside table. I’ve got about 140 pages left of this one. I can do it I can do it. I know the story It’s not like, I’m like anxious about how it’s gonna end. Like I know what’s gonna happen I just had other books I had to prioritize, but now in December It’s gonna be read. Another book that I’m also in the middle of is Becoming by Michelle Obama. Now, I can’t remember exactly how far I am through this I’m listening to the audiobook which I would recommend But this is another one that I put on hold because, I was listening to two other audiobooks… in November for two different read-athons. Which I have not finished and probably should also prioritize in December. Uh, should I mention them? Yeah, okay. I’ll mention them. I’m also listening to the audio books for A Little Life and A Clash of Kings. Both humongous books I’m… Little further than a third of the way through A Clash of Kings and I’m actually not quite sure how far into A Little Life I am I’m probably around … the halfway mark Because these are so big and I know that these are going to take some time I’m not rushing to get these done by the end of December. But I probably will make some progress on both of these… throughout the month. Again dependent on the prompts for the magical read-a-thon. This is another book that I am in the middle of, however, it has been long enough since I picked this up that I’ve decided to start from the beginning again. And I will be discussing this in the Byzan’s app as I go and that is Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend. I was really, really adoring what I was reading. Like I really, really loved it I just I had to put it down for other books that I had to prioritize. That seems to be a trend. I think I just commit too much and don’t organize my reading life enough. But then if I organize my reading life, then I feel like pressured and then I don’t do anything. But this is one that I’m soooo excited To continue reading and I’m actually really excited to discuss this on the app as well. Like, if any of you guys want to read this in the month of December with me Please do, because I think this would be such a fun one. It’s like a really fantastical middle grade and I honestly think it should just be like a such a delightful one to buddy read with people so. If you want to read it, please do. And then I have two graphic novels So we have Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Search, Part Three by Gene Luen Yang. So this is probably one that I’m also going to be discussing in the app because this story arc Focuses quite a lot on Zuko’s mum and what happened to her. Which is like the biggest unanswered Question from the show that I needed to know so. Lots to say, lots to talk about with this one. Very excited. And then lastly, Lumberjanes Volume 2. So I read the first volume of this one and really freaking loved it. And I don’t know why it’s taken me this long to get to the second volume. So I’m gonna remedy that in the month of December. Again subject to the prompts of the magical read-a-thon. If none of the prompts work for any of the books that I want to read… I don’t know what I’m gonna do yet. Lots of awesome books that I’m excited to finish and read in the month of December. Are you guys participating in the Magical Read-a-thon as well? If you are, let me know down below. By the time you’re seeing this video I think the first set of prompts will have been announced. But I’m filming this a couple of days ahead of time so I might tweet about the books that I’m definitely going to be reading throughout the month as we go. Particularly if there are any additional books that I add to my TBR and decide to discuss on Byzans and if you guys are interested in discussing some of the books with me as we go, do kind of like a low-key buddy read then, please let me know in the comment section below and I can look out for you on the Byzans app. Which would be a good time. So don’t forget links in the description to where you can download. It. Totally free, great time. It’s gonna be a great time. And once again, thank you Byzans for sponsoring this video. But that’s all that I have for now. Thank you guys so much for watching. I’ll see you very soon in a new one, but until then I’ll talk to the comments. Bye!

Not doing the Magical Readathon, I find readathons tend to cause slumps for me. Pressure and all that. So no matter how much I want to take part in them, itโ€™s generally not a good idea. I tried to do three last/this month (Believathon, Tome Topple and the Queer Lit Readathon) and failed at everything but the Tome Topple. ๐Ÿ˜‚
