Best Personal Development Books

Hey there! Today we’re going to talk about….
50 Shades of Grey! No we’re not. That discussion is reserved for my inside circle and my tantric
meditation class. You don’t know if I’m kidding or not, do you?!
Hi I’m Rena Hedeman, professional certified coach and serious personal development junkie!
Today, I’m going to answer a question I get asked ALL the time by people who attend
my workshops and seminars. And that is, what are the best self development books? Ok so
that’s not exactly 50 Shades of Grey, which might be a good or bad thing, depending on
your perspective. So my answer to that is “well, what are you looking for in a personal
development book? Do you want to learn about spiritual growth? Or personal development
as it relates to your Mindset? Or money and abundance? Leadership? Business? Do you want
something purely motivational and inspirational? Ok, I’ll give you a few of my favorites
in ALL of those areas. Some of these were written recently and others are old time classics
– but the underlying message is the same: your outer world is a reflection of your inner
world – your life experience is up to YOU and only you – not your parents, not your
education, not the economy, not luck. Your happiness and success is determined by YOU
and how you respond to whatever life throws your way. So pay attention to your own thoughts,
beliefs, and self-talk. Pay attention to your attitude and habits – and the attitudes and
habits of those you hang out with. Pay attention to your body and what it’s trying to tell
you. Tune in to your own inner wisdom. If you want to learn MORE, here a few of my all-time
favorite books: For spirituality personal development, I recommend A Return to Love,
by Marianne Williamson; You Can Heal Your Life, by Louise Hay, A New Earth, by Eckhart
Tolle, and the Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra. To learn about the power
of the mind, a few of my faves are Your Erroneous Zones by Dr Wayne Dyer, The Power of Positive
Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale, and The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph
Murphy. For motivation and financial abundance, there’s the famous classic Think and Grow
Rick by Napoleon Hill, Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins, and Rich Dad Poor Dad by
Robert Kiyosaki. For Leadership and business, two of the best books out there are Seven
Habits of Highly Effective People by the late Stephen Covey and The 4-Hour Work Week by
Tim Ferriss. I also happen to LOVE Tribes by Seth Godin. And last but certainly not
least is – da da da daaaa! My very favorite category of books which deals with courage
and change. If you’re facing any kind of big transition in your life or you need some
amazing inspiration to follow your dreams, to feel the fear and do it anyway, three must-read
books are Do the Work by Steven Pressfield, Daring Greatly by Dr Brene Brown, and Transitions
by William Bridges. Of course there are hundreds of other fabulous personal growth books I
love and recommend. Literally ANY book by the authors I’ve mentioned already, as well
as Paulo Coelho, Byron Katie, Brian Tracy, Gary Zukov, Esther Hicks, Bruce Lipton, Dale
Carnegie, John Maxwell, Jim Rohn, Debbie Ford, the Rev. Dr Michael Bernard Beckwith, James
Allen, Neale Donald Walsch, Rabbi Harold Kushner, David Schwartz – oh there are just so many
great masters of personal development out there! And if you want to know what I’m
reading? This book is absolutely amazing – oh I just love this author so much! So if you
wanna know, be sure to c’mon over to the comments section on my website and ask me!
What am I reading right now? You’e gonna love it. And while you’re there, please
tell me what YOU’RE reading and what YOUR favorites are! I really want to know!! And
if you liked this video, please share it with your friends and “like” it on Facebook!
Thanks for watching. Tune in next time for an episode on tantric… well, you know.

Hey Rena, great video. Now I'm curious of course – OK What are you reading? I'm reading Managing the Universe on a Part Time Basis by Mike Scott, and How to Heal Toxic Thoughts, Simple Tools for Personal Transformation by Sandra Ingerman, Twitter Power 2.0 by Joel Comm, the New Yorker and Atlantic Monthly, and lots of art books. Thanks for the insights. All best, Holly

Love this video Rena! It's great to know what you are doing to get further educated. I read 7 habits of highly effective TEENS when I was in high school and got a lot out of it while applying to college!

hey rina ! I found this video while surfing information on personality test. Basically I have a purpose behind. I was in hometown when i figured out that students from my city are not motivated at all. They have enough talent but are not able to communicate. Henceforth I decided to come up with some training sessions that could help them to a extent. This video was really helpful and hopefully an useful source.thanks
